Maybe there is already a thread like this anywhere in the forum - then I am sorry :)

But I have a problem... today, I bought a nice thing called "dutch oven" and now I am looking for easy receipes and / or someone who knows, how to use this thing and has a bit of experience with it as I do not want to be a danger for the camp / myself.

I don't have a lot of experience with those, but as far as I remember the beauty of a Dutch Oven is that you can basically cook a lot of different ways, depending of whenever you put coals under it, on top of it, of both.
I got a modern one at home that I use with an electrical stove (thus I can't really practice with things like putting coals over the oven), but it does wonder for slow-cooking stuff (for example, the following recipe is a delight: slow cooked boston baked beans).

I use my dutch oven for 3 years and i LOVE it, because it solves a LOT of the problems a dedicated cook encounters while cooking on open flame.
If you are able to read german i advice you to try THIS.
You can also come over to our camp on Mythodea (Erdlager), to have a nice cookout.
Greets,
Clif

Yup, as I am from Germany I should be able to speak German (I do it with a southern accent, though :)) Sounds good, I am sure I will find the time to take a cooking class in the Erdlager

Southern accent sounds good to me...
