During the comming ConQuest the Nasserosse, rain of thorns, will host a handbow and crosbow tournament in the wayfarers arrival. All comers are welcome. The photo a preview of the archery trofee that the best archer in mythodea will recieve. |

the award is nice, an larp arrow for an larp event, thats kinda logic, but an real arrow would look more realistic. but ist's verry wel done and ist golden, I like gold an shiny stuf  tho bad i'me not an archer

What about the rules of that competion? What distance? What kind of target? LARP Arrows don't stuck in those normally used circle-targets for archery-competions. How do you want to count points? How many arrows should be allowed per round to be shot? Will there be rounds? What system will be used? Is it only by counting points or will there be several rounds to find out, who is the best? Edit: only those f***ing orthographical s**t |

I like it! And I think its great what these folks are doing with the tournaments. I look forward to seeing what Sir Fulcrum does with the Grand Melee.... |

as it stands now the rules for the handbow tournament will be as below. this might change depending on the number of participants. If we have a lot of interested people we might have to change the rules a little so you wont be waiting all day to shoot a few arrows. there will be several 30*30cm square targets that will fall over when hit properly. this way, you either hit of you dont. there will be 2 rounds. the first round will be 3 shots, starting at 10 meters, adding 5 meters after every hit. the maximum distance for a shit is therefore 20 meteres. all those with the highest score (probably 20 meters) will advance to the next round. the seccond round will be shootouts on points between two participants in series of 3 shots at one distance. Both will start at 10 meteres again Both can shoot 3 arrows at 3 targets to score a maximum of 3 points if they hit all targets. When both participants shot 3 arrows they add 5 meters to the distance. As soon as one misses more than the other after 3 shots he looses the match. the winner can then continue to make shots to score points, as soon as he misses all 3 he is out as well. the two with the highest scores will have one final shootout. If there are more participants with the same highest score they will all participate in a shootout. The shootout has the same rules als round 2. it is forbidden to do anything (magical, alchemy, mental or physical) that will be harmful to any participants, their shooting capacities or their mental state during the competition i hope this answeres your questions Ylduran. There will be a archery range available for everyone to practice with instructors that know the tournament rules in the day(s) before the tournament. |

Thanks a lot. You've answered ALL questions. You've figured it out very well. So me as Erik vom Schlangenpfad and my son Asvin Eriksohn will try hard to reach a score as high as possible (and maybe more  ) with our new recurve-hunting-bows.May the best man (or woman) win! |

I suppose only bows which are legal for normal LARPing purposes will be usable? 20 Meters is a VERY long distance for those... |
