Before asking a possibly already answered question - please have a look into our FAQ section.
This part of the forum is intended to direct a question directly at the Organisators of the Conquest Event, not for the everyday discussion. Please refrain from discussing here and do this in the other parts of this message board, else the moderators will have to act on the threads here.
We do know that we might have other viewpoints on a rule than you. And that there is a possibility for endless debating on this or that point. But lets make it clear: This rulesystem is not intended to be everybodies darling but to be a base for handling thousands of people on one event on a fair level. Each and everyone. Please always keep in mind that a statement of a GM is not a suggestion, but a decision that is NOT discutable.

Support-Problems:
I cannot download the rulesystem files:
Please install the actual Adobe Acrobat Reader Software. If this does not help (sometimes the IE browser does not want to display PDF Files inside a website), rightclick on link and choose "save file as" to download it to your computer and open it from there.
General:
1) Can i use your rulesystem on my own events?
Yes, you may use the ConQuest Rulesystem, as long as the copyright notice is still showing "Live Adventure". Modding is allowed and maybe even needed, since the basic version is made for Events the size of some thousand players and up. Please do drop us a notice anyway if you intend to use it. And never forget: On the main ConQuest Event OUR Version counts. No mods or adds allowed.
Chapter 6: Expirience Points (EP)
1) Can i get extra bonus expirience points on your event or do such Bonus-EP from other rulesystems/events count?
Nope. To both. We do not work with extra points for characters nor do we convert on another scale than "played days".
Chapter 7: Character generation
1) Can i choose Background X, Y or Z for my character?
You can choose as background whatever floats your boat and fits you most as long you keep it in a mediaval fantasy setting. Our rulesystem regulates only the abilities of your character, not your background, culture or history.
Chapter 8: Abilities/Skills
1) If i know and am able to speak a foreign language, can i use it for my character or does this cost EP?
If you can speak it, do it. No extra cost. This falls under the principle of "Whatever you can act out real, you can do".
Chapter 10: Magic / Alchemy
1) Am i allowed to use real glass or plastic bottles for alchemic actions as "throwing component"
Nope. No. Don't you even think of it. And if we see you doing it anyway you are in deep problems.
Chapter 10.1: Magic
1) Can i use clerical magic that is coming from my god as source?
Yes and no. No in the way that your god has no direct connection to you as long as you are in Mythodea. On the other side, there are possibilities to do it - with the help of the Elements connecting you through to your god. Please see the Chapter 10.1 in the Rulesystem.
2) How do I react to a spell if I don't know what it means? If a spell is cast on you and you don't know what it means, just play something you imagine it might be. Best to go with "If you don't know what a spell means, play something, but not nothing". You can always later (after a battle or else) ask the caster or a GM on what the spell meant and how to play along correctly.
Chapter 10.2: Alchemy
1) Which ingredients may i use for alchemistic mixtures? Are there recipes?
For the normal potions, poisons and else you may use whatever you have to "act and play the production out". And then there are special plotrelevant potions that might be needed during the game. To create those, there are recipes with special things to collect and to find on the event grounds.
2) Is there a herbal system in your ruleset?
For producing potions, you are totally free to grab, collect and use anything you define as "herb" or other ingredient. We focus on the theatrical component in our games. Play it. Make a show. But there are some potion-recipes that ask for special herbs. And those can be found on the event grounds. Everybody can pick those up (represented through a special coloured kind of Kidsplay Popcorn). But only trained alchemists are able to tell which colour of that "popcorn herbs" are which Ingame herb and for what to use it. If you want to use such "herbs", please contact a GM.
Chapter 11: Fight
1) Is close combat (Infight) allowed during battles?
No, with a small exception. All forms of direct bodily contact between two fighters is forbidden. That includes any kinds of direct hits with hand or feet, throws or else. But: Outside of massbattles, you are allowed to do staged fights when you talked this over out-of-play before the fight with your opponent for doing a good show, like in Duels.
2) Is "charging" or jostling with the shield allowed?
No. Dont use your shield as a weapon in an offensive way. Use for pushing, barging, charging, hitting or throwing the shield is not allowed. You might only do this in staged fights when you talked this over out-of-play before the fight with your opponent for doing a good show, like in Duels.
3) How can i use socalled "underarm-blades"?
You are not allowed to stab. On our events, we define them for use as a kind of defense shield. You are not allowed to use them as weapon. Primarily, they are only cosmetic costume assets.
4) How can i disarm my battle opponent?
The only ruleconform possibility is the magic spell "Disarm" (see Chapter 10: Magic and Alchemy in the rulesystem). It is not explicitely forbidden to beat or to anul/sideline someones sword out of his hand, since this can happen unintentionally too. But always keep in mind the general rules and guidelines for safety. And no grabbing with the hand.
5) What does "direct hit" mean?
Some weapons/spells just ignore armour points and pierce directly through it, making their hitpoints directly on your lifepoints instead getting deducted from your armour points.
Chapter 11.1: Firearms / Bows / Boltthrowers
1) How many lbs may my bow or crossbow have?
Maximum is 25 lbs.
2) How do i get my arrows back that i have shot in the field?
If you shoot your arrow, you may collect them. If it is yours. Aside from that, in big battles the Gamemasters collect every arrow/ammo that lies on the ground and piles it up on the side of the battlefield so that they dont get broken through people walking over it. You can collect your stuff there too. And we strongly recommend writing your real name on your ammo in a waterproof way.
3) Do you allow selfmade arrows?
Yes, we check them in at the central weapon check-in point in the Headquarter of the Event where they get a good look and test for safety. All industrial produced arrows from firms like Hammerkunst or IDV and else are checked in generally in your camp.
4) Are firearms like muskets allowed?
Yes. They fall under the conditions and rules for "ambience firearms". They don't make damage - just a kickback to the opponent the same way like a "Gust of Wind" Spell of a magican.
Chapter 11.2: Armour
1) How do you count "fraction" armour points, like when a piece of armour makes only half a point?
Collect any armour together, rest is rounded up at the end.
2) Is armour made of latex or plastic allowed?
Yes. If its latex or plastic applications on real armour (for design purposes), then the normal armour points apply. If the armour is completely made out of foam and latex, you do get lesser points for that. Things like that get sorted out directly on the event by a GM in your camp that checks you in.
3) Can i get a weapon or armour checked before the event?
No. We can give you a definite answer only if we can see and touch and test the weapon or armour. And that is only possibly directly on the event. We do not give any "OK" beforehand, like by just viewing photos of it.
