From reading the rules it seems characters start with 10 experience points. With an additional point per 2 days played at a larp. Does this apply to any other larp system? For example Loren Trust and Curious Pastimes in the UK?

Hey there,

yep, any played days for that character counts (not requiring it to be in one System), not only the Conquest Ep's - so you not have to start over from Zero.

Disclaimer: not a GMs statement, but what i have done and seen there ;)

Hi Romeowhiskeyone,

yes. Fresh characters start with 10 points. All others get 10 points plus their played days on this character. And no, we do not test, not check nor want a character sheet with a stamp from the previous Gamemaster. We just believe it when people say it.

And well, nearly all participants dont need much points anyway, beeing just the warriors they are... The rulesystem is just a framework for the characters player, so that he knows some edges he or she has, like, when their magic is used up for the day or things like that.

I'm pretty impressed with this. It implies trust in the players and does not create antagonism with other larp event organisers. I know a few folks who enjoy the idea of their character travelling the planes and each larp system being a different plane of existence. This system allows them to pretty fairly represent the character development they have made in those systems and I suspect has somethingt to do with why you have such a large player base.

I'm also impressed with your stance on IC coins being bought with OOC money. I've read alot on the 2009 forum and what you guys say makes a lot of sense. Its a similar problem with online games but like EVE Online I think your approach is the way forward. I imagine I will buy some coins so I can get to gambling right away!

Its the differences like these between the german and UK larp communities that I find so fascinating.

And this year, the NPCs will pay with Ingame Coins the Players for quests solved. K'ay, that has a real OnlineRPG ring to it, but it will satisfy the players request for "How do i get money within the game".

Now I like that, where can I get my amount of gold coins to hand out to players who act according to my wishes, hmm? 8-)

Well, who said that the english corner has to stay free of spam, sorry to interrupt ;) .

No need to search, of course we'll drop the stuff while emitting a fitting sound to inform you about that fact ;) .

One of the things I always disliked about the larps I've attended in the past was there was never any looting, or generally any reason to take prisoners ie ransoms or beneficial intelligence.

If I get attacked and looted (or robbed by PC highwaymen) is it generally the practice to give the looter all my IC money?

From my point of view, to take someone hostage and try to get a ransom, you need to know the group behind that person.

I had up to know 2 times the opportunity to have a person hostage. In both cases it was unclear if that person had a group at all or someone who would provide the ransom.

Anyway, yes, in most cases a highwayman would very politely ask you for a sponsorship for further highwayman-projects. ;-)
