the answer is no.

About the Expirience Points: I don't have exact numbers, but as far as i can say, roundabout a fifth of all events are beeing played with the one sentence rulesystem "You can do what you can act out in a way that is accepted by all others around you." - Needs no exp points, no calls, no nothing.

About the NPCs: Events can be Player vs. NPC, Player vs. Player or even be player free with only "Casted Characters" (practically NPCs) or any mix inbetween.

That just depends on the choice of the event organisators. And seen from that, the Larp Scene here in Germany is colourful and widespread.

In general:

-> Open universes allowing character transfers or closed universes where anybody can take part, but only with a character that exists there.
-> Events ranging from 5 to 10.000 participants.
-> No central character databases
-> From Stone-age over Fantasy to "Nearly Reenactment Level with no Fantasy" to Steampunk and SciFi to Postapocalypse

And you just choose where to play and what. Whatever floats your boat.

Well, you really should try to be friends with the danish crowd. They do have some really nice larps. And if you have a good ear for languages, you might find the rest of the lot that happens to live on the other side of the baltic sea pretty quick too. The guys from Lithua really impressed me with their clothes and style of play.

Hurrah! Michelle and I purchased our flights to Frankfurt yesterday. It's official! Whee!

The shopping at the event is unbelievably awesome. So much to chose from. Personally I would bring bare bones basics and revel in picking up things at the event.
