Hi Peter, i have translated the Rules already last year ;o). Can be downloaded on the main page. Left navigation bar: "Regelsystem" -> "Rules 5.0". Or take the shortcut: http://www.live-adventure.de/ConQuest/d ... _V5_en.pdf |

Would it be possible to get the important parts of the safety check dokument (regarding weapons) translated to English? While most of it probably is common sense to someone used to playing around with padded weapons, I would very much like to know if there are any special rules I need to know about. |

Hi Andre, in short: - A weapon longer than 50 cm that you use to hit someone should have at least 1.5 cm of foam padding between the edge and the core. - A weapon that you use to knock someone unconscious should have a foam pommel. - The weapon should be build in a way that the tip is guarded to not penetrate the foam if the tip is bend. - A shield can have a stable core of wood or else, but needs to have at least 3 cm of foam on the edges. - A weapons surface must be smooth and slippery. Not sticky (like degenerating latex). - Chain-Weapons should not have uncovered chains. Chainparts must be soft. No hard plastic or metal. Best is to keep chains (like on a morning star) shorter than 30 cm. Chain weapons may NOT have a strap as a dropguard. You must be able to let drop such a weapon in case it wraps around something to prevent damage. - Axes must be build in a way that secures the Axeblade not to twist it away from the core. - Weapons that you throw (Daggers, Ninjastars, Stones, whatever) must be completely made out of foam. No core. No weights like lead. - Selfbuild arrows can be used. But make sure that your construction contains safeguards stopping the shaft penetrating the foamtip. One tip here to make the Safety Gamemaster your friend is: Build one arrow, cut it in half and show that to the GM at the Entry Check, so that he can see your way of construction. Personal Safety Check: - Everyone guarantees that the weapon he is using is safe. Check often. - Check for foam layers loosening from core or layer-to-layer - Check for cuts in the foam/latex surface - Check your arrows before shooting. Pull the head gently, does it loosen? Does it come off? Same to the feathers. Is the shaft broken? |

Hi, I have a few question about missile weapons and potions. "During a battle, contact poisons can be effective only if used with Armour piercing missile weapons." Does this mean that a poisoned arrow would have a green piece of fabric or paper tied to it? I've only ever seen normal and full foam arrows (from siege weapons) at CoM so I am wondering. Armor piercing means things with a sharp point, like projectiles from a bow, crossbow but not blunt like a rock? Would small biodegradable water balloons be acceptable as projectiles? If yes, could they contain alchemical potions? I'm assuming I would yell the name of the potion when shooting, kind of like a magician yells the spell name, and the player would take the effect into account only if the liquid touched their skin. If the balloons could not contain anything, do you think people would roleplay something like Windstoss? Thanks a lot for the answers, looking forward to CoM |
