For 10 years the world of Mithraspera gets visited by players, and the introduction to our world is getting more and more complex, especially for single players or groups that are coming from non-german language countries.
Complemental to our big Newcomer-Plot-Node in the Merchants City - known as the big Library of the Ouai that started in 2011, we will open a new Camp for all who are new to Mythodea.

The focus here is to have a successful start into the background and plots that revolve around the world of Mithraspera.
For example:
Why do we refer to this world sometimes as Mythodea and the next time as Mithraspera?
How can i overcome the illnesses spread by the Pestilence?
And why does everyone fear the Viinshar?

If you have such and other questions, then the "Wayfarers' Arrival" is waiting for you.

Several months ago the powers that be decided there should be a new camp, a camp set aside to help folks who are new to Mythodea get involved in the plot and not get lost in the grand scale of the event. They decided to call it the "beginners camp".

Now having seen that I decided to get in touch with Live Adventure and suggest that unless the camp was for larp "newbies" that this name was not the best choice. I was reassured that it was not a larp kindergarten, but was instead a place for people playing characters newly arrived to the continent of Mythodea, a sort of Ellis Island if you will.

The name was changed to the "Newcomers Camp". But still people misinterpreted what the camp was all about. Whilst its true that the camp will have some players who will be new to larp its not a place set aside for "noobs", instead its a place for international English speaking players to be made to feel welcome with English speaking game masters, referees and non-player characters. There will be players of all levels of experience and background in the camp. Some of us have over 20 years larp experience from many different game systems.

And so the "Wayfarers' Arrival" was a born. Designed to feel like the foreign quarter of a medieval city, it will be a nexus for OOC international players to mix with some local german players to help them find their feet in the sprawling mass that is Mythodea. It will be the perfect place for groups to come and recruit new members as many of the people in the camp will be either attending solo or in very small groups.

It will also be home to some larger groups like the Grand Expedition who will help provide the foundation for the solo players and small groups to build on. It will very much be a home to those who consider themselves adventurers who have yet to pledge their allegiance to any of the elements or other factions at the event.

as seen in the introduction, the Nasserosse group of archers will also join the Wayfarers' Arrival. We will bring 30 archers and the rest is seen in our introduction thread.

we realy like the idea of a forreighn quarter for new arrivals, and as we are new to Mythodea we will join the arrival in the comming CoM.

I am Italian and I plan to visit Mythodea for the first time this year, together with three friends of mine. We bought tikets for the Wayfarers'Arrival, and we plan to play a small group of travellers, where I will be the healer/fortuneteller.
I would like to know how does it work with the camp: we have our tent, but as we are so few, do we have to join a larger group?
Anyway I think it would be nice to know in advance some of the people with whom we are going to play.
I have also other questions (a lot ), but I not sure if thay are off-topic here so for now that's it.

For all LARP here in Germany there is a rule you never must, but you can. Of course each camp form a group that has got enemies and friends and goes to battle as one unit. This does not mean that you are part of a group at all times. You are free to do as you like, but bear in mind that there are many people at such a con and they all in a way react to your actions. You could end up getting more than you bargained for - positive or negative.

Hello Viola! Welcome to the Wayfarers' Arrival! I am one of the game masters for the camp but also the leader of one of the player groups, the Grand Expedition.

Loremaster summed things up nicely and I would tend to agree with him. The Wayfarers' Arrival is being specifically designed to help solo players and small groups to get involved and not be "lost in the crowd". We are designing plot and streamlining logistics to help make this happen.

Ofcourse you are welcome to message me to discuss the possibility of joining the Grand Expedition itself but you are also more than welcome to be in the camp without such a formality. There are already a number of groups and individuals signed up for the camp and its looking to be great fun!

Our group, the "Chouette Philosophale" or "Philosoph'Owl" in English, wish to join the Wayfarer's arrival!!
We're twenty Swiss from the french part of Switzerland who are not new to Conquest of Mythodea (we go there every year since 2005 'till last year under the name of "Tonneau Joyeux" or "Happy Barrel" as mercenaries).
But this time we're expecting to creat a new order of scholars, alchemists, engineers, etc.

By the Wayfarer's arrival, we hope to creat and find more Roleplay! Even if we learned german in school, english is way easier to express ourselves. And when players of other camp will come, they'll immediately know that we speak english. That makes things easier.
By the Wayfarer's arrival, we're looking for quests, other ways (than lending our swords) to interract with others and make our path through the maze of informations and intrigues.

In return, we'll be great neighbors! We'll bring our good mood, our larp experience, our odd experiences, our at-your-own-risk-alcohols and all this in a nice cosy place.

We'll give you more informations about us in a near futur but you can already count on us.
